Is it possible to choose which Android applications to download from the Google Play Store when there are such a plethora of excellent games for Android phones to choose from? If you’re anything like us, you’re all too familiar with the sensation of downloading something only to regret it afterward. Fortunately, we’re here to make it a thing of the past, thanks to our curated selection of the greatest Android games available.
Most are free, others are inexpensive, and several are excellent for playing with pals online when you can’t get together in person — but they all will keep you delighted at home or while you’re out and about. Many of these games will need online connections to play, but we’ve also compiled a list of the top Android games that can be played without an internet connection.
The Play Store has a wide variety of games, so we tried to choose a diverse selection from a variety of genres, including first-person shooters (FPS), a classic gun game, role-playing games (RPG), platformers, racing games, puzzlers, strategy games, and more. At least one of the games on our list should be a good fit for your gaming requirements in the new year.
Even if you’re searching for the best iPhone games, we’ve got you covered – but if you’re gaming on an Android tablet or phone, you’ll be sure to find something here that you’ll like!
Grid Autosport
Real Racing 3 has become stale to you? Beat high scores and set new records. Grid Autosport is the racer you’ve been looking for. Despite the fact that it is an ad-free premium game, it will need a high-end smartphone with enough processing power and storage space (3.9GB).
This is the closest thing you’ll get to console-quality racing on Android, with over 100 courses to blast through and a vast range of 100 vehicles to choose from as you go. The controls are completely configurable – you can pick between Tilt, Wheel Touch, and Arrow Touch, or you can use a controller if that’s more your thing.
The game is available in English and Spanish. There’s also a lot of longevity in this scene, thanks to a diverse selection of disciplines ranging from Endurance and Demolition to Drift, Drag, and Street Racing. Despite the game’s rather high initial purchase price, you’re paying for an ad-free experience with no need for further in-app payments in the future, and the game includes all of the downloadable content.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley, a famous agricultural RPG in the vein of Harvest Moon, is one of the best games to play on Android devices. It follows your relocation to the country to take over your grandfather’s failing farm, where you will cultivate crops, rear animals, and become a contributing member of the local community.
Getting married, exploring the vast world, fighting monsters, or just finding a quiet area to go fishing are all possibilities. When it comes to peaceful, simple life feelings, this is a great choice. If you’re new to Stardew Valley, feel free to peruse our Stardew Valley fish, Stardew Valley coop, and Stardew Valley silo instructions, which are all available for free download. A Nintendo ds version of this game is also available.
Fotonica
Fotonica is described as “simple to pick up yet almost tough to master” in the Google Play Store, and we’d say that’s a fairly true description. One of the more interesting mobile games on our list.
One-handed controls let you travel across intricate settings at speeds of up to 140mph in this endless runner. Gameplay is straightforward: go through eight stages by leaping, diving, and landing while taking in the cyberpunk-style graphics, or try your hand at three infinite levels to compete for the highest score possible.
There’s an original soundtrack of spooky electronic music, as well as attractive vector-style images, and there are no commercials or in-app purchases to distract from the overall enjoyment of the game. You’ll get a lot more use out of Fotonica than you imagine, despite the fact that it seems to be basic.
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
Do you prefer to play puzzler games or card games? If you’re anything like us, you’ve already started binge-watching (or have completed!) The Witcher on Netflix, and you’re not quite halfway through. However, if you want even more of a Witcher fix, let this occupy your time with a Witcher Card Game which is tons of funds and one of the greatest games on our list.
While Gwent aficionados are familiar with the PC version, the mobile version will allow you to play on the move while still getting your fill of the game. Hand-drawn graphics and breathtaking visual effects infuse fresh life into every PvP combat, and the new Arena mode, which Geralt of Rivia himself would enjoy, ensures that there is never a lack of difficulties.
Additionally, you may choose from a range of various settings, ranging from traditional to seasonal. Gwent is a free game to play, but a word of caution: you may not see much of the sun as you toil to construct a deck you can be proud of and gather cards to obtain spells and unique powers as you go through the game.
You’ll find Gwent: The Witcher Card Game to be simple to start into yet difficult to master if you’re up for the task. It makes for a delightful morning commute or a rewarding time drain anytime you have some free time.
Crash Bandicoot: On the Run
This is for you Crash fans out there. There are three compelling reasons to download this game: Free, addicting, and starring everyone’s favorite mutant eastern barred bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot, this game is a must-have for gamers everywhere.
Regardless, this is a fun little video game to play when you’re watching a program that doesn’t grab your interest for the whole episode or anytime you have some downtime. The gameplay is rather standard for a runner, but since it is set in the Crash world, the settings, characters, and villains are all really interesting and will appeal to fans of the Crash series in general.
Run as far and as quickly as you can, avoiding obstacles and collecting objects along the way. That’s all there is to it – with the exception of the multiplayer option, in which you may join up with your buddies to see who can run the farthest or the quickest. Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is a free game to download and play, although there are some in-app purchases that may be turned off if you’re playing with smaller children.
Chrono Trigger
A must-have for every Android phone owner is one of the most legendary role-playing games of all time, Final Fantasy VII. Even if the touch controls in the mobile edition of Square Enix’s Chrono Trigger aren’t the finest, it’s still well worth your time to go through the story.
Chrono Trigger is a time-traveling role-playing game developed by the same team that brought you Final Fantasy, Dragon Ball, and Dragon Quest. You take on the role of Cronos, who must travel through time to rescue Marle, a young girl who has fallen into a rift caused by a Telepod malfunction.
There are over 50 combinations to use in combat, and the mobile edition has better quality visuals and a piece of updated music. It also contains the Dimensional Vortex and Lost Sanctum dungeons, which are not available in the desktop version.
Minecraft
the most known service title in the world. Minecraft is a famous video game that is played by people of all ages all around the globe. For those who have never played before, Minecraft immerses you in a massive environment where you may harvest resources, construct structures, beat up evil characters, and generally do anything you want.
There are two game modes: a survival mode in which you must mine your own resources and food, and a creative option in which you have unrestricted access to everything. A plethora of fresh material and opportunities have been introduced as a result of frequent updates. The game is on a level with its PC and console equivalents in terms of overall quality. It is possible, in reality, to play on multiplayer servers with other individuals who are using the same platforms.
There are in-app purchases available, but they are just for cosmetic items such as skin packs and other customization options. There are no better sandbox games on Android, and it’s also one of the finest survival games, making it the best of both worlds.
Retro Goal
Retro Goal is a hybrid of a traditional soccer game and a club management game. Its most endearing feature is its visuals, which are inspired by the 16-bit period. This game is a treat to play on your phone, thanks to controls that have been designed for touchscreens.
Make a sensible investment in your squad, develop your club, score goals, win matches, and revel in your success. There are 10 matches available for free to try out before you have to pay $1 to unlock the remainder of the game – money well spent, in our opinion.
CarX Drift Racing 2
A true-to-life racing game, CarX Drift Racing 2 is the successor to one of the most popular drift games of all time, CarX Drift Racing, and it is now available on mobile devices. When you consider that there are over 65 different sports cars to unlock in single-player mode, as well as the option to tune your car for the best performance — by adjusting the engine, gearbox, turbine pressure, wheel angle, and other factors — it’s not surprising that you could easily lose several hours to this game.
Although it seems to be a typical racing game, the tire pressure has an effect on driving mechanics, and your vehicle control changes based on the terrain you’re driving on, from snow to sand to asphalt – so you’ll need to have your wits about you. When it comes to visual auto-tuning, there’s a lot of room for creativity, and you can make your vehicle stand out from the crowd by swapping out mirrors, bumpers, and lights, as well as adding rims and body kits.
We really like the multiplayer option, in which you can vie to be the first driver to cross the finish line first in the championships. You can also join automobile clubs or build your own to form alliances. As long as you’re willing to put in the effort to unlock new cars and purchase improvements for your current vehicle, it’s a game that’s worth investing your time in. Regularly updated content includes new automobiles and courses, including the most recent snowy St Petersburg location.
Bridge Constructor Portal
Because of the merger of the Portal and Bridge Constructor games, Bridge Constructor Portal allows you to release your inner engineer. The bridge is a fabrication! In reality, it is not — it has just not been constructed yet. You will be responsible for constructing bridges, ramp slides, and a variety of other structures in 60 test chambers to ensure that the Bendies reach their goal without being injured.
Use a variety of Portal devices, such as repulsion gel and portals, to get around risks and obstacles such as acid pools, laser barriers, and other similar obstacles and hazards. Even though the touchscreen controls may be a little awkward at first, Bridge Constructor Portal quickly becomes extremely addicting once you get the hang of them.
Brawlhalla
If you like playing games with your pals, this mobile adaptation of the famous console and PC game is a great option. There are a bunch of new features and a multiplayer mode. Or if you prefer a solo play, this is also an excellent choice and one of the best android apps for click play.
In this platform fighting game, you may compete against up to eight other players in rated battles and casual free-for-alls. It also allows complete cross-play across platforms. It is, however, the ability to create a bespoke room with your pals in which you may fight it out that is the most enjoyable part — just make sure you practice in the Training Room first.
There are 50 different characters to pick from — and a new character is added every week — as well as a variety of game styles, such as Capture the Flag and Brawlball. It will be easy to find people to play with because of the large number of gamers, and Brawlhalla is completely free to participate in and enjoy.
Spaceteam
Do you like having your own space? Do you like pressing buttons and defeating bad guys in space? Do you love confusion with an easy challenge and yelling at your friends? This is one of the new games with plenty of longevity.
The game Spaceteam is perfect for you! Keeping your ship from exploding and your squad from meeting an untimely end is the basic principle of the game. In order to complete your task, you’ll be given a control panel containing buttons, dials, and slides, and you’ll be required to follow time-sensitive instructions. So far, so straightforward, right? Wrong.
All of your friends are given only rudimentary instructions, which they must then follow to the letter in order to salvage the ship before the clock runs out. Spaceteam is a multiplayer game for two to eight players that may be played with friends on Apple devices over a Wi-Fi connection.
Playing with one of seven friends is a lot of fun and weirdly addicting, and it’s completely free to do so. You will get similar fun like The Alto Odyssey, which we recommended for you in a different article.
Riptide GP: Renegade
Riptide: the base game GP Renegade, on the other hand, moves the action to the water on illegal hydro jets, rather than the usual dull race vehicle. You’ll go on a series of illicit races across flooded ruins and murky city waterways in order to restore your championship and reputation in this game set in a dystopian future in which you’ve been expelled from the Riptide GP league.
Construction of a crew, defeating monsters, and unlocking additional playable characters and vehicles are all part of the single-player experience — yet there’s no such thing as being reasonable in this game; it’s all about taking chances and hitting the finest moves.
The game’s multiplayer option includes an eight-player online co-op mode in which you compete to be at the top of the scoreboard. Even better, you can play couch co-op in split-screen mode with up to four other people.
