NFTs are expected to rise in popularity during 2022, with millions of dollars in art collections being sold as digital jpegs and some of the world’s top influencers and celebrities becoming part.
Artists like Beeple and Pak have sold their works for tens of millions of dollars, and collections like the Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks have become some of the most expensive pieces of art you can purchase. Which ones, however, are the most expensive?
Let’s have a look at what we’ve got. (Please note that owing to the volatile nature of the Ethereum blockchain, all prices are in US dollars.) All numbers are based on the price of Ethereum at the time of sale.)
CryptoPunk #7804 — $7.6m
This NFT from the alien cryptopunks sold for a fortune. Another CryptoPunk has been added to the list, but he is by no means the last.
#7804 is one of just nine ‘Alien’ CryptoPunks, and he comes complete with a stylish hat, pipe, and sunglasses.
This is one of those coins that you’d be thrilled to have gotten your hands on when it first came out. A worthy mention are also cryptopunk #4156 and cryptopunk #8857, which sold for over a million each.
CryptoPunk #3100 — $7.67m
On March 11, 2021, only one day after the sale of #7804, #3100 became even more costly than its contemporaries in the same building.
A second Alien punk, but this time with just a headband, CryptoPunk #3100 is the sixth most sought-after CryptoPunk in existence.

CryptoPunk #7523 — $11.75m
#7523 is the third most rare card in the collection, and it comes with a price tag to match.
It outperforms all of its CryptoPunk counterparts in terms of rarity.

Pak’s ‘The Merge’ — $91.8m
With the sale of The Merge, another Pak piece, on December 2, 2021, it officially became the most expensive NFT ever sold, with over 30,000 collectors pooling their resources to raise a total of $91.8 million.
Apart from Clock, this is the only NFT in our top 10 list that has had several owners, which is reflected in the astronomical price tag attached to it. Check out Noah Davis and the NFT Covid Alien who is a worthy mention here.
Ringers 109 — $6.9 million
Ringers #109 is a piece of artwork created by Art Blocks, which is a project that uses an algorithm to form loops around pegs. Depending on the medium, the artwork may be a 3D image, an interactive element, or a static image.
Ringers #109 is a static picture showing a sequence of loops around many pegs that has been manipulated in some way. On a white backdrop, the color black is the most prominent. The balanced wrap orientation, the loop, and the white backdrop are all characteristics that Art Blocks’ creations have in common with one another.
The red peg, on the other hand, is the most difficult to come across – it appears in just 0.3 percent of all tokens. In October 2021, the NFT was sold for USD 6.9 million, setting a new world record for Art Blocks sales.
It is not known who purchased the NFT, but according to The Crypto Times, the seller was AKIRA, co-founder of NarcissusGLRY, who announced the transaction on Twitter after receiving the NFT.

Ocean Front — $ 6 million
Beeple’s Ocean Front is much more than just one of the most costly pieces of art in the NFT collection. It serves as a sobering warning to the whole globe of the looming catastrophe that unregulated climate change is poised to deliver upon us all.
Beeple’s “Everydays” series includes this piece of artwork. In the background, there is a stack of trailers and containers piled on top of each other on a floating platform floating in the midst of an ocean. A tree grows at the very top of the dystopian man-made structures, under which mushrooms can be seen sprouting in the shadows.
Justin Sun, the founder and CEO of the Tron Foundation, purchased the artwork for USD 6 million on March 23, 2021, after a competitive bidding process for Nifty Gateway.
In a Twitter post, Beeple personally declared the winner as well as the winning offer. Check out the collector by the tag name Cozomo De Medici and his NFT collection for inspiration for your first purchase.
Mad Dog Jones – $ 4.1 million
Some of them are imaginatively futuristic, and they propel the artists to unprecedented heights of achievement. For example, the REPLICATOR by Canadian artist Mad Dog Jones, whose actual name is Michah Dowbak, copies itself and generates a new NFT every 28 days, according to the artist’s website.
According to its vendor, art auction firm Phillips, it is an “NFT experience” that includes “seven distinct generations of artworks from throughout the world.” After the painting sold for USD 4.1 million in April 2021, Mad Dog Jones became the most valuable living Canadian artist at the time.

Edward Snowden – $5.4 million
Edward Snowden, a whistleblower for the National Security Agency, is a bit of an anomaly on a list that includes some of the most prominent figures in cryptography. His motto is to stay free.
He created an NFT that included the 2020 judgment by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which found that the National Security Agency’s bulk surveillance program was in breach of the law. You could wonder what distinguishes art from other forms of expression.
Platon, a photographer, and artist have created a picture of the former computer intelligence specialist, which has been superimposed over the text. His foundation is called ‘stay free’.
The proceeds from the sale of the artwork will go to Snowden’s Freedom of the Press Foundation. A coin has different blockchain technology from the original features of crypto.
However some of the biggest sales and biggest NFT prices in the NFT world occur for artworks from digital artists who use crossroads, and who do not implement any technology behind their NFT, it is just artwork.
The recent trend indicates that the winning bid on the secondary market and the NFT market is dynamic NFTtokens. In the coming years in the digital world, NFTs with movement and music will achieve the highest value.
Beeple’s Crossroad — $6.6m
The final result of the Beeple’s first ng drop attracted a lot of buyers. Some of them offered deals for the entire collection.
Beeple’s Crossroad is a 10-second short film that depicts people passing by a big, fallen corpse with obscenities scrawled all over it as they go through the intersection.
A large part of the reason Beeple’s works are so well-regarded is that they provide something a little different from the typical NFTs you see — and the price speaks for itself.
Clock — $52.7m
‘Clock’ is a work produced by Pak and Julian Assange that very literally functions as a clock, marking down the number of days that WikiLeaks founder Assange has been detained in the United Kingdom. Other developers are also involved but they do not use their real names.
The National Football Team’s mission was to generate cash for Assange’s legal defense, and the NFT was finally acquired by AssangeDAO, a group of over 10,000 individuals who pooled their money to buy the NFT and help Assange’s legal defense.
