Madeira
Madeira wines are Portuguese fortified wines created from a blend of red and white grapes. Bastardo and Tinta Negra are red grapes, while the remainder of the grapes used in the wine is white.

While not all Madeira wines are sweet, the sweeter Madeira wines are popular for dessert. Madeira has a tawny hue regardless of whether it’s prepared with red or white wine grapes since part of the process includes heating the wine.
When it comes to the fermentation process Madeira is similar to Lambrusco and Banfi Rosa Regale Brachetto which has fruity flavors. Although this wine originated in northern Portugal, Italians say “we love dry Portuguese wine, for sweet dreams”.
