In the heart of Downtown, Los Angeles’ official city core, which stretches from Bunker Hill to South Park to the Historic Core and beyond, there’s enough to eat.

There’s a little bit of everything accessible right in the heart of DTLA, from magnificent vistas within tall dining rooms to Cantonese barbecued pork hidden behind office towers. There are several fantastic restaurants in Downtown Los Angeles right now.

Orsa & Winston

Josef Centeno’s modest Downtown LA restaurant offers a moderately priced tasting menu that strikes a balance between refinement and ingredient quality.

With Japanese and European influences, this restaurant embodies the spirit of current Angeleno food better than any other fine dining establishment in the city. There is a great happy hour in this landmark downtown La restaurant which counts as one of the top taco spots but also serves Italian American food.

Shiku

Shiku, owned by Baroo’s Kwang Uh and Mina Park, started at Grand Central Market in 2021 with a menu of high-quality Korean home cuisine at reasonable costs. There were recent additions of similar restaurants in the neighborhood, but nothing is similar to Shiku.

Begin with fried chicken or deep-fried pyogo mushrooms, then choose from a variety of popular meats such as LA galbi, Andong soy-braised chicken, or kimchi-braised pig belly in a dorsal.

Petite Peso

Petite Peso has grown into one of LA’s most inventive Filipino restaurants, presenting chef Ria Dolly Barbosa’s modernized versions of classic foods. Close to city market South, the Peso counts as one of the most terrific places serving everything from Japanese Yakitori to duck breast.

Rice bowls come with pinakbet (different vegetables), salmon sinigang, pig munggo, or chicken adobo, while bistek and sisig salads lighten up normally heavier meals. Don’t forget to take home some pastries, such as ensaymada or pan de sal.

Badmaash

In a Bollywood-meets-pop-art setting, this vibrant gastropub delivers updated interpretations on Indian classics. Badmaash, which means “bad ass,” was founded by chef Pawan Mahendro and his sons Nakul and Arjun.

The cuisine reflects the brothers’ Indian ancestry and youth in Toronto, with dishes like chicken tikka poutine. There is a similar place in San Francisco Ca. The new executive chef has all the cool kids hooked on the awesome meals he provides here.

WoodSpoon

Natalia Pereira, a Brazilian native, launched Woodspoon on the outskirts of the Fashion District in 2007. She cooks Brazilian croquettes, a traditional fish soup, and a pot pie with a twist from her homeland. The staff walks smile at you all the time as they are very friendly.

It’s packed with chicken, hearts of palm, potatoes, olives, and roasted corn in one of Downtown’s smallest kitchens. On a whole course Bavel, pork belly with the traditional Californian flavors is also available and is a good reason to visit this place.

Danny Boy’s Famous Original Pizza

A modern pizzeria with set piece home cooking and a great place to grab a whole meal or a small downtown bite. Danny Holzman, the co-founder of the Meatball Shop, may have found greater celebrity on TikTok and social media, but he’s still running the show at his eponymous contemporary pizzeria on the ground level of a large office building in Downtown Bunker Hill.

From the thin crust to the beautifully spongy square pizza, it’s worth the trip for some of LA’s greatest slices. Pro tip: the garage has a limited amount of short-term free parking places. One of the most preferred places for a date night in recent years. It has modern takes and much flourish which provides a fresh perspective from the restaurant owners.
